Winter cough anyone?
Well here’s an excellent cough syrup for you….
- Rinse/wash the carrageen moss in cold water to remove any remaining fossils, sand etc.
- Place the washed carrageen in a heavy based saucepan with the filtered water, cloves, lemon, ginger and allow to soak for 5-10 mins until the seaweed is completely hydrated. (if using add the thyme here also)
- Bring this mixture to the boil, and reduce to a simmer for 20-25 mins.
- Strain and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Finally stir in the remaining ingredients.
Note: Other variations include fresh & dried thyme or garlic but the standard recipe above works well!
Portions: Gently reheat 150ml in a saucepan & take this 3-4 times per day, its best to make a double batch and take it consistently 3-4 times per day for 3-4 days. If needed take this remedy up to 6 times per day if needed and its always best if you take it intensively (as directed) and consistently over 3-4 days. When reheating do not boil & if needed add more manuka honey if needed!!
