Invest in your health by making smarter nutritional choices & understand that the right nutrition for you is key to supporting ongoing health & wellbeing.

Every time we shop, prepare, choose & eat our food we are making an investment in our health and our future selves.

Interestingly enough, the body regenerates itself completely every 7-10 years. For example the lining of the mouth every 3 days, the GI tract every 5-7 days and so on. This is an empowering fact that enables the individual to make changes now for future health goals. We cannot deny the fact that our genetic code influences this outcome but new studies are increasingly supporting the statics that 5-10% of our genes are fixed with the remaining 90-95% to be influenced by environment, food, stress and the power of thought and state of mind. Some mutation in the gene or groups of genes in a person’s cells, may be random or from environmental exposure, such as cigarette smoke. Others are hereditary (the mutated gene is passed down through the family). Most are multifactorial inheritance disorders-caused by a combination of small variations in genes, often connected with environmental factors.

“Genes load the gun, Environment pulls the trigger!!”
Environmental factors to consider include cigerette smoke, alcohol use & consumption, pesticides, diet, drug use, drug interaction. Biological factors include gender, age, renal function & liver function.

Nutritional & diet is fundamental to health, the food we eat is in constant communication with every cell in our bodies. A well varied, whole foods diet is of paramount importance in influencing overall health and susceptibility to chronic disease states.

Healthy ratio of fruit and vegetables

To take one of the many influencing factors we look at the common conceived concept that “You are what you eat”, rite? Well thats not entirely so, you are what you eat and what your body can absorb! In order to positively influence our bodies terrain we need to consume & most importantly absorb a specific nutritional profile to benefit our genetic function or susceptibility consisting of antioxidants, specific B vitamins, support liver detoxification path ways, consume fibre, eat phytonutrient rich foods, meet a mineral rich profile and balance out omega 3:6 ratio.

Eat a variety of fresh vegetables, fruit and whole grains & feed your body on a cellular level!
